We are seeking individuals who have an interest and passion for decreasing suicide in Monroe County PA. No amount of time is too small or too great. We are looking for volunteers to help at community events, plan activities and training, participate in committees, and provide support to others affected by suicide. Your time and experience are valuable. Please complete the volunteer form below.
Collect local data related to suicide, analyze, and strategically plan outreach efforts. Obtain/create educational materials on warning signs and symptoms of suicide, local resources, and treatments. Plan and coordinate training events such as Mental Health First Aid, QPR, and More than Sad; and collaborate with other entities.
Foster strong collaboration with schools in the community to support suicide prevention efforts by participating in informational events, offering gatekeeping training opportunities, and initiate discussions on how to strategically recognize, assess and intervene. Collect local data related to suicide, analyze, and strategically plan outreach efforts. Obtain/create educational materials on warning signs and symptoms of suicide, local resources, and treatments. Plan and coordinate training events such as Mental Health First Aid, QPR, and More than Sad; and collaborate with other entities.
Keep the community informed on events and information related to the coalition. Represent coalition at health fairs and community events to educate, link, and share information on suicide prevention and awareness on mental illness. Plan and coordinate annual Out of the Darkness Walk and event for Suicide Prevention Month.
Focus on ways to help suicide survivors. Not limited to facilitation of support groups, creation of a quilting group, planning events, etc.
